Leon Barnett has been diagnosed with a heart issue. This issue will force him to retire from his football career.
The Northampton Town defender has been a great plus to his team but his recent diagnosis will be a serious issue if he decides to continue playing. Medical professionals believes that it could be unsafe if the Barnett continues to train and play, they have therefore dissuaded him from continuing his play.
The first time that Barnett noticed this problem was in a match against Wycombe Wanderers where his heart rate was observed to be just below 300 beats per minute.
Barnett explained how tough it is for him but he remains positive. His manager Keith Curle said: "We are all devastated for Leon." Curls explained that when he noticed th e issues stronger, he sent Leon for further testing, after which the medical professionals stopped all of Barnett's activities for his health's sake.
Curls also explained how important Barnett has been to his team.
