With this win, Wakefield has once more moved a step closer to finishing in the top-eight in the Betfred Super league

Wakefield garnered tries from Ben Jones-Bishop and Bill Tupou which saw them ease into a well-deserved 14-0 lead.

Not long after that did Wigan rally around to score through Gabe Hamlin.

There was an interception which saw Jones-Bishop profit from it, running the length of the pitch at the restart of the 2nd half to extend Wakefield's lead.

Soon enough, the hosts pushed forward as they extended their lead through a fourth try by Tom Johnstone which saw them through to a 24-6 advantage.

The last ten minutes of the game had Tom Davies score a superb individual try for Wigan which was added upon soon after by Morgan Escare.

However, the win for Wakefield came through the efforts of Pauli Pauli thus denying Wigan the opportunity to gain grounds and reduce the gap between them and St Helens who are currently leading the Super League.
