Julen Lopetegui was relieved of his duties after losing the El Classico to Barcelona in a match the Los Blancos outfit would wqnt to forget in a hurry. A 5-1 scoreline isn’t a memorable to be kept especially when you are at the receiving end. However, as many have opined, the fault cannot be said to be Lopetegui’s alone as he had players who were performing poorly. It’s just that luck wasn’t on his side when he took over the Madrid team.
When you have players like Bale, Benzema and Asensio in your team, you think you’ll have chances to bury games. That however wasn’t the case for Julen as the charges failed time and time again to perform their duties , leaving the coach to blame for their lack-lustre performances.
Carvajal was bold to make the claim and even said he’d continue saying it till Real Madrid has a coach who’s like him or better.
