The El Classico kicks off on Sunday and is going to be a memorable one for those who are fans of the two biggest teams in Spain. Any clash involving Real Madrid and Barcelona always promises much; tension, fights, cards and fun too. It's always been special. This could be even more so.
This is going to be the first time in nearly a decade where neither of Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi will be present on the pitch.
Real Madrid are doing their best to forget about the Portuguese who had been at the heart of the club for so long. Ronaldo had been the 'go-to' player for so long that so many players learned to rely on him. Now that he's gone, there's so much uncertainty left.
Lionel Messi, the captain of the Blagurana shares similar story of significance for his Barcelona side. He's been the flag bearer for a club that has been home to him for more than 18 years. The player though is injured and won't be available for selection. He's nursing an arm injury and may be our for up to three weeks.
Everything now lies on the hands of the players to prove their worth and make this a memorable encounter.
