The highly rated youngster has barely played forever the senior team since his £43 million move from Flamengo in Brazil. He's seen more playing forwards the third tier division arm of the club.
In a recent interview, the player revealed that it was his decision to play for the Castilla. He had partaken in pre-season and got to discover that it wasn't going to be easy breaking into the first team. He had therefore asked that he be allowed to play in the Castilla rather than sitting at home.
He was sent off last weekend in the game against Celta Vigo B and may not even be available as a substitute for Real Madrid for Sunday's El Classico.
Lopetegui currently needs all the striking options he can gather as his charges striking and scoring is all that would save his job at the moment.
