Drayton Harbor Maritime Festival - and a Pirate Ship?!

Took a day off and decided to check out a local festival, the Drayton Harbor Maritime Festival. They had a few old ships come into port and there are a ton of other boating related festivities going on. One of the features of the festival was, the Lady Washington. Technically, it's not all that old as it's a replica but the real ship that it's based on was from the 1700's!

Although the real ship wasn't a pirate ship, this replica was used in the Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Despite not having an actual pirate ship, there is definitely a pirate theme going on at this festival. There were plenty of people dressed up as pirates and even a few pirate flags here and there.

It's definitely a family friendly event, there's an art fair and plenty of food vendors... if you're into Fish and Chips there's plenty of that too!

All in all, it was a fun time and was nice to get away from all the house work that seems to be occupying all my time away from my day job. Sometimes you've got to take a break and recharge the batteries.

Hope you're all having a good weekend, and here's a link, if you want to know more about the Lady Washington Peace!

Very cool! You just do not see ships like that these days.

It was cool to see (even though it's a replica)! Thanks for the comments @deepwaters! :)

Ooo! We rode on the Lady Washington a couple of summers ago. Soooo piratey! Looks like a lovely festive day out in the sunshine! Yay!

Cool! They were doing rides at this event too, but we decided not to go. There was too many other things to see! It was a good time, nice to be out and about!

I still want my own Pirate ship, look at all the great festivals I can enter my ship, group tours, story telling, face painting, balloons, Keel hauling demonstrations, Walk-the-plank prizes, Raiding Party bookings, harbor tours, and movie deals.

Haha! I guess when you think about it, there are a lot of things you could do with one... 🤔😆
