PEACE

Waking up this morning, I thought to myself,
Can I ever find peace?
Oh! Peace where do you hide?
Where is your abode?
Searched everywhere for you
Oh! Everywhere is dark,
I got myself a lamp and searched again
I guess Peace is in a cave,
The wind blew and whispered to me NO
It is not there.

Then I stepped out,
I walked into the garden
A Rose flower smiled at me,
I said to myself,
Peace must be in the roots of this flower
I dug the roots out
Oh! Peace wasn't even there.

Dear Peace, where are you?
I long for you always
Find me if I can't find you
Come put my mind at rest,
Come not as death
Come as the completeness to my troubled mind
I hold up my lamp to light your path to me,
Peace oh! Peace, I await you.
