Hello great Steemians!
Welcome to my blog!

Yesterday I posted few tips about Ozone layer and it causes. You can read here if you didn't read it ... https://steemit.com/science/@etimbukndem/ozone-layer-bcd12f71afe32
Today's post is the continuation of yesterday's post. I will be talking about Ozone layer depletion, causes and effects.

Ozone layer depletion is one of the most serious problems faced by our planet earth. It is also one of the prime reasons which are leading to global warming. The layer of Ozone gas is what which protect us from the harmful Ultraviolet radiation from the sun. It is the Ozone layer that absorbs these harmful radiation and thus prevent these rays from entering the earth atmosphere. When this layer is destroyed, the planet earth and it environment would be exposed to danger.

The major causes things that lead to the destruction of Ozone layer are temperatures, increase in the level of Chlorine and Bromine gas, production and emmision of Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) and volatile organic compounds from vehicula emissions, by-products of Industrial processes, aerosols and refrigerants.

However, when Ozone layer is destroyed, ultraviolet radiation from the sun is allowed to enter the earth's atmosphere thereby causing havoc to the earth's environment and also on the plants and animals. Some of the effects of Ozone layer depletion are ; skin cancer, eye damage, damaging of immune system, aging of skin, difficulty in breathing, chest pain and throat irritation.
