While I have heard a bit of negativity on the game I have heard alot of praise as well. Like you said in your post. The game is still in Alpha which means it still has quite a ways to go in terms of completion(if that will ever happen.) I think what people are missing about this game is the potential that it has by giving an experience or filling a void that has been missing in space age games for years. I think the closest I could think of was Mass Effect that helped bring a genre such as this to light. Mind you I am talking third and first person shooters in general. I in no way would slap Eve Online in the face like that lol.

YES! the experience. When I was a youngster I remember sitting in theater and witnessing for the first time on the big screen a gigantic spaceship that looked real flying overhead in pursuit the rebels. The Millennium Falcon, The idea of smuggling in space, and flaying from planet to planet seamlessly. NO GAME has ever come close to that experience with their pop up screens to land on a planet that was just a 3d faced, I never dreamed their would be a game where the planets you see are really there full sized. So yes the content is in early stage, but unless gamer's experience it for themselves, and look deep into the development and plans which are featured many many different ways on the website, they will never realize what it is. It's not a game, its an interactive universe with professions and eventually can become a whole existence in space.
