It seems to me that Star Trek: Discovery is a reboot of Star Trek on TV. And a reboot by definition does not take place in the same universe as the series it's derived from. The new Battlestar Galactica does not take place in the same universe as the old Battlestar Galactica. Ghostbusters 2016 does not take place in the same universe as Ghostbusters 1984. Therefore, STD does not take place in the prime Trek universe. I'm willing to give STD a chance, but not as long as these numskull producers keep saying this alternate Trek series takes place in the prime Trek universe!
