Investors have poured billions of dollars into Magic Leap, which is building a promising head-mounted light-field display .
As the video dislaimer says: "Shot directly through Magic Leap technology. No special effects or compositing were used in the creation of this video."
The Magic Leap is a see-through display, so it can't really show blacks on a bright background. You can notice this in the video, by observing how the white pillow on the sofa can be seen through R2-D2. Also notice that the artists have lightened C-3PO's midsection in order to minimize the issue of not being able display black. But all in all the technology is very impressive!
