I'm not American. I have visit the US many time but this last trip was the one and only time I went to the Statue of Liberty after over 15 trips to NYC and living there many years ago. It was the so interesting to hear the story of Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, a French sculptor who had a big "art idea" and then went around the world trying to sell it. He was turned down by other countries but finally found a home for his grand sculpture in the harbour of New York.
I have a coin from the tourist shop, it sits on my desk and every now and again I look over at it and remember to keep going.. Bartholdi could get it done, so can I, I just have to keep working at it, even if it is a BIG idea.
