Question: What is the current STEEM inflation rate?steemCreated with Sketch.

in steem-dev •  7 years ago

The STEEM whitepaper claims that STEEM token inflation is 100% per year, and that 90% of the tokens are distributed to STEEM POWER holders. Some other sources, however, state that the inflation rate is 9% currently, while 25% of the new tokens is distributed to STEEM POWER holders.

What are the actual values?

In general, is there some kind of an official specification for the current configuration of the blockchain?

i’m interested to see the responses on this post! Just followed! Follow me, too? :)

I tend to believe that collecting random followers via all these "follow me" requests in the comments looks kind-of lame and might not necessarily be too useful in the long term. On the other hand, I understand that new users must somehow bootstrap their social circle initially, and there are not too many options for that, so it's a lame-lame situation.

Anyway, you do actually post some of the things which I'd read, hence let me be your 100th follower and encourage others who pass by this comment to follow you too! ;)

Again, I love the way you speak truth clearly...and in love. Hats off to you! Defintely have my Follow!

Looks like it is around 9.5% (but decreases over time). Of this, 10% goes to securing the network / content, 75% goes to content creators, and 15% is given as interest to holders of STEEM power.
