@mindhunter Golf Tips - 3 Rules For A Big Drive Off The Tee!

One of the biggest hitters in golf is Jason Day and he recently joined the Majors winning circle at the US PGA last year.

I break his big drives down into 3 rules that allow me (and all of us!) to drive the ball further.

1. GET A FULL EXTENSION:

Always try to keep your driver as low, long and as far from the body as you possibly can. Let your arms work as one unit on the backswing and extend your arms are far as you can.

When I lift my club away, its pretty much all my shoulders and arms. From there I always fold up and make sure that I have good width to address the ball.

2. WIDER STANCE:

When I'm really trying to hit a drive hard my stance is way past my shoulders just because I know this makes me feel strong and I can kill that ball really good.

You don't want it too wide to the point where you can't turn, but you've got to have proper width in your stance and a nice stable base.

3. HIT IT REALLY HARD!!

I usually try and hit a draw as hard as I possibly can every single time. If I'm going to hit a bummer shot, I'm going to hit a 350 yard bummer shot and not a 300 yard bummer shot.

When addressing the tee, I'm trying to rip the plastic from that ball and get it down that fairway as far as possible.

If I have a shorter club in hand with more loft, I know I can always get out of the rough and onto the green with my second shot.

Happy tee-off my fellow Steemians!

If I can hit a curveball, why can't I hit a ball that is standing still on a course? ~Larry Nelson.
