Steemit Golf Tips From @mindhunter - The Scotsman From The Home Of Golf.

For me, all golf starts at the back of the green - with the short game.

Most amateurs I met only want to go to the golf range with their buddies and hit a bunch of drivers all day long. That's not me. I like to perfect my short game first, then work backwards to the drivers and the long game.

Good chipping and putting for me is where the true shots are removed from your score card to reduce your handicap. You should be able to get up and down with the minimum of fuss. This is one of the most paramount skills in golf.

You look at a lot of the younger kids playing golf today, and all they worry about is how far they can hit the ball, but it amazes me how many of them are totally useless at chip and run shots or getting out of a bunker.

Most young players seem non-aggressive to me when it comes to their short game, as they just seem to lack the nerve. This was where the great players like the Seves, the Phils and Oles worked their trade totally unafraid.

They could make shots that other people could only dream of.

I believe a lot of youngsters could learn a lot on their short game just from these great masters of golf.

Happy tee-off!

Golf is a game that is played on a five-inch course — the distance between your ears. ~Bobby Jones

Thank you for posting @mindhunter.

There was a golf series put out by @jrcornel. It would be nice to have more about golf on Steemit. Very kind of you to give golf its own tag.

All the best to you. Congratulations on your seven thousandth post. Cheers.

Got another #steem-golf post tomorrow, so stay tuned. Hoping the #steem-golf tag will stick soon!!

Loving the new #steem-golf tag

Me too! Let's hope this second golf post can encourage other Steemians to use it. #steem-golf

I agree. Short game is everything.

I wish I was playing now :(

Great post!

Work backwards in golf my old grandpa once told me. A very wise statement ;)

Indeed! My short game needs a lot of work. There's another old expression :

Drive for Show..... Putt for Dough.

I can't say my grandfather told me that, and come to think of it, I'm not sure where I heard that saying. :)

The old ones are the best, but sometimes we overlook their simplicity ;)

are you on twitter? the social media site, not the drug

No, I fled many moons ago, same for fb too. Just here noo. Right, got my 7000th post to write and post noo!...stay tuned!
