Hello and welcome to the second day of the whatsapp webinar as duely hosted by the Steem Benin group @bund.
However, before I continue on the seminar, we want to appreciate our mentor on the blockchain for the addition/contributions he made during the first day of our whatsapp webinar. Nonetheless, his contributions will be the foundation of our today's summary taken by me @owoblow-steemit. In case you missed the first episode as taught by @jaff8 you can still quickly view it by clicking here.

SirKnight's Contribution

Source

The greatest Knight on the blockchain network gave some very comprehensive/eye opening contributions and they are in blockquote below to prevent the wrath of cheetah from visiting me...hahah

2-1 Rule - spend 2 hours commenting and curating for every 1 hour spent drafting your own posts.
Authors who reward - if authors are willing to reward you for your comments - be sure to follow them and comment regularly. But always provide good quality, genuine feedback. Who knows - you might make a friend or two.
Community - you must find a community of people with shared interests. Loners don't get far in Steemit.
Do it for love and entertainment, not SP - if you are passionate in what you do, the SP will follow.
Get to know plenty of Dolphins - Whales probably won't want to talk to you - but Dolphin votes add up.
And when you have done all of the above - find your niche, do it often and do it well!

As you can see from the excellent contribution above, you have to spend more time on steemit commenting than actualy posting. Commenting increases engagement and that's what a social network is aabout. Thanks for the time @Sirknight.

Going away from that point, lets head to the topic we dicussed today which is actually tagged Commenting|Tags|Plagiarism|cheetah|steemcleaners.

Commenting

Source

Several newbies have a lot of issues when they intially join steemit. One of the many problems is commenting. I said that because commenting iis a very important aspect of the steemit community. Apart from the fact that your post count increases when you comment, I like to see commenting more like as an interaction/engagement with the community, It makes people feel that you are not only increasing their number of followers but that you are also engaging with their content.

often times, whwn you comment, you might just get lucky to enter the persons autovote or in other cases make them visit your blog regualrly which might be good. However, how you comment matter a lot. Comments like;

  • Nice post
  • Wonderful post
  • I like your post
  • Thank you
  • i look forward to another post....... are not accepted in steemit. To me and I think for so many other persons this is really very annoying.

Once you comment like this in my post, I feel like my post didn't didnt mean anything to you. A comment should draw out what you learnt from the post as well as other useful additions the author must have missed out during the course of writing his content/article. Once you comment in this manner, you are sure to get more followers as well as some good rewards.

Tags

Source

The issue of tag is something that has been bordering my mind for a very long time. As a quick fix, I will use the opportunity to also talk about Tag Abuse. My personal believe is that using the proper tags determines about 40% of the success of your post reward. Therefore you can check a quick list of all the most popular tags on steemit right about now by clicking here. Of course you can always you can qrite a post on the most trending tag if you are an expert in your niche. However, as a newbie, you must learn how ytowrite your tags. For exampe, if you want to do your introduction post, it is wise to use introduceyourself, introducemyself, introduction, life, writing etc. other times ou can also use your country tag so that top stemians in your country can always see you and give you some rewards.

Likewise it is very important to use popular tags before generated tags. For exapmle, if you wrote on rice and stew as a food, it will be unwise to start your tags with rice, stew, delicious, food.... You first tag should be food , then maybe food photography and then other tags may come in. Also a detail research about others that might have written that sort of post before and check on the tags they use. It pays. You can check what tags are the best for any content by typing the most important keyword here and the tags will appear.

Tag Abuse

Tag abuse is the practice of using non related tags to a post. For example writing a content about nake up and then tagging food because maybe you heard somewhere that people that write in the food niche always have something good from their work. often times, wehn you misuse tags, you face the danger of being flagged. Being flagged is just like raising an alarm and this affects your reputation score. The solution to this is to ensure that you do appropriate research on the tags to use before posting an article.

Plagiarism

Source

In steemit, we source images because it is not originally our own personally work. BY that I mean because it was taken by our camera or it was downloaded from somewhere. However, you must ensure that you don't copy and paste a content word for word. Once you do, Cheetah will immediately visit you. However, when you write articles and you are not so confident that it is 100% UNIQUE, you can run a plagiarism check using any of these tools;

Cheetah

Source

In sequence to the last heading about plagiarism, cheetah is a well related term. Whn you deliberately form the habit of copy other people's content from other sites online that has already been indexed by any of the search engines, cheetah appears. Cheetah is a robot which is very quite informative. Often times cheetah claims to have seen a similar content somewhere. We will look indepthly into markdown styling today in our webinar. Stay cooll.

Steemcleaners

Source

Just like cheetah, steem cleaners is also a bot. It is an account in steemit like cheetah that issues warning to any content creator about a bridge in the rules to follow as a steemit account holder. Therefore, when you;

  • write articles that contains copywright issues
  • illegal materials
  • Abusive contents
  • Plagiarism..... it appears often times at firs to warn you by downvoting you. However for the warning, it is not usually 100% downvoting. Although after subsequent warnings, you will defintitely get what you deserve as it will now fully give you a 100% downvote. After which it will tell severely on your reputaion and further make you lose credibility on the platform.
