I think overall engagement, whether it be through blog posts or comments will just add momentum to steemit as a whole. Which one does more, I'm not sure so I am trying to be more active with both. Only been apart of the community for a little over two weeks and I am already starting to love the community and discussions I find here.

Indeed comments are increasing at a faster rate than posts.

Pity they're still not really being rewarded so much :-/

Note for those disappointed by comment rewards: It's probably still better to comment and engage on other people's posts when you're a new user, than to write blog posts. A good blog post takes much longer to write than a thoughtful comment, but is more likely to remain completely unseen if you're don't have any followers. Commenting on other people's posts is the first step towards making people want to follow you, which in turn can lead to developing your blog and following.

It does seem like more and more users have started voting on them though! :) Hope the trend continues!

Even with more people voting them up, due to the R^2 model and being part of the same pool competing for r-shares, comments generally can't compete with posts which have the edge in terms of visibility (and auto-votes). There are also far more comments to vote for.

Linearization may help, we'll see.

Comments are the daddy. I do love getting a wodge of them on a post. It shows that it has been read!

:D
