The rule for firearms stealth is that you never shoot twice. Once is fine, bad guys can't locate you. You shoot twice and your perception of sound direction improves and they can find you or least head your direction.

Right, and we don't know how many rounds Papa Pepper is going to have anyone with guns fire, so it's quite possible he's going to have people fire more than one. No control over that. Personally, I think this is a fast elimination round for anyone who chooses to fire on the cows, sort of like anyone who chose to fire on the turtles in the last episode - you get focused on all those firing options and it can be easy to forget about the snipers we just discovered on the ridge right above you in the last episode...
