Who was that following the teams?

In our last round, the teams were driving along, when suddenly, someone appeared behind them. Not knowing who they were or what they wanted, the teams had to choose their next move cautiously... but did they?

DAY 5 ROUND 1 RESULTS

OPTION 1 – Stop the truck and see who is in the other vehicle and what they want.

Making choices like this can be dangerous. The other vehicle could be almost anyone with any intentions. The majority of the teams chose to stop and see who it was and what they wanted. They stopped and waited, and soon the other vehicle rolled up. An excited couple jumps out and quickly greets the teams.

As it turns out, they found a huge supply of non-perishable food and wanted to let everyone know the good news. They have been out spreading the news and giving away some of the food to bless others. They gave a can to each team member and shared a bit of their story.

They had found a vehicle, but were basically starving to death. They had no idea where to drive or how to get food. In a desperate moment, the couple prayed that they could find something to eat, and promised that if it was more than they needed, that they would share with whoever else they could find.

Amazingly, they even found a group of armed men who did not seem very friendly. They thought that they would get shot for sure, but wanted to make good on their promise, so they drove up, greeted the men, gave them some canned goods, and left without an issue. Unfortunately, it seems that those guys are heading this way.

With a smile and brief word of encouragement, the couple gets back in their vehicle and leaves as quickly as they had come. Each team who chose this option now has a backup food supply.

OPTION 2 – Accelerate and attempt to jump the ravine.

With an amazingly risky move of bravery, one team chose to try to jump the ravine. Fortunately, they made it across alive without ruining their vehicle. Their daring behavior paid off this time!

OPTION 3 – Pretend to be attempting to jump the gorge and then slam on the brakes.

With this attempted psych-out, two teams pretended to be driving across the gorge but then slammed on their brakes and skidded to a halt. The vehicle following them did not do as good at braking, and slammed into the back of the teams, pushing their vehicle off the cliff.

Unfortunately, the teams who chose this option fell to their deaths. Please consider coming back next season, but for now, you're dead.

DAY 5 ROUND 2 SCENARIO

As the teams continue driving. They decide to stop for a break. At the forest's edge, the teams pull over and stretch a bit. As they consider what to do next, they notice some plants growing nearby.

If these plants are edible, it could be a free meal.

The teams begin t walk closer to check them out, but then see something on the ground at their feet.

It is a snake for sure, but could it be poisonous? Could they even eat something like that?

Perhaps they should just leave and continue. But... a free meal could come in handy...

• OPTION 2 – Kill and eat this snake.

• OPTION 3 – Don't bother with the plant or snake and just leave.
