Tom's back and the teams have chosen how to proceed.
Yesterday the teams came upon a camper with some canned goods underneath it. Non-perishable foods can come in really handy in a survival situation and the teams would be able to use them as a backup food supply, if the teams can get some. Let's see what they chose and how it worked out.
DAY 5 ROUND 1 RESULTS
OPTION 1 - Run away as fast as you can.
After seeing what happened last season in a similar situation, some of the teams thought that it would be best to just run away as fast as they could. Obviously this will not get the teams any food, but they did make it out alive. Here are the teams that chose to flee.

OPTION 2 - Have both team members run and grab some cans as fast as they can.
No one chose to try to steal the cans, so we do not know how it would have worked out...
OPTION 3 - Have one team member sneak in for the cans while the other covers with the pistol.
No one chose this option either, so another mystery will remain.
OPTION 4 - Shout "Hey Tom" and ask if you can have a can.
Interestingly enough, three teams chose to call out to Tom. After calling his name a few times, a man suddenly appeared behind the teams. "Howdy! What are you up to?" the man asks. Startled, the team mates turn around and express their hunger and desire to trade. Though Tom realizes that the old USD is not exactly as enticing as it once was, he offers up a deal. 2 cans for $1000 USD. Since the teams cannot eat the money, they gladly trade. After all, this is a life and death situation. The two cans per team will feed the team a meal, so these will be treated as a backup food supply that will automatically kick in if needed.
Hoping that the money eventually pays off for him, and that the teams do not change their minds about the matter, Tom kindly dismisses the teams and heads back into the woods. Here are the teams who called out to Tom and made the trade.

DAY 5 ROUND 2
The teams are quickly putting distance between Tom and themselves, whether they met the guy or not. Perhaps Tom would even be the type to exchange a few bullets for his cans, so the teams who made the trade quickly get out of range.
Up ahead, the road begins to wind severely back and forth. Though this makes travel slower, it hinders long distance visibility, which is a bonus. Hopefully any vehicles will be able to be heard before they will are seen, which will give the teams time to hide.
As the teams progress, they see some movement up head. It almost looks like some people....
Hmmm.... who knows if it really is people, but it seems so. How should the teams proceed?
OPTIONS
OPTION 1 - HIde.
OPTION 2 - Walk on ahead and try to greet the people.
OPTION 3 - Set an ambush to attack the people if they come this way.
OPTION 4 - Act crazy to try to drive them away.

Well, @mr-mooch has been known to have more front than Woolworths and says he's going ahead to greet the vaguely people-shaped-figures. So Option 2 for us.

The kiwis feel that discretion in the better part of valor, and in this case we shall employ our superior camouflage skills, learned from an ancient tuatara - that master of hiding until the world has all evolved away. (It was around before the dinosaurs and it's still here!)
So we chose option 1.
Want to find out how we got our nifty cans of food?
