So here is a mockup of what we could have one day soon. Now Bitpay already has a bitcoin/bitcoin cash debit card and if they opened a steem wallet we could actually turn Bitpay into a steem debit card but since @blocktrades already lets us convert steem/sbd to Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash well, my Bitpay card is basically just a Steem Debit card! All I can do is ask @thedegensloth how progress has gone with his @zappl debit card plans. I feel like since HF20 and SMTs are almost here we can actually prepare for USD to Steem/SBD Pairs again. We CAN have Steem Debit cards, it won't cost a million dollars, no we can do it by finding existing prepaid debit card system and integrating steem! We find a company that already has the paperwork and license fees and bureaucratic red tape completed. We just find a ship thats already sailing and we come aboard and offer them a deal! Imagine all the failing stores that could accept steem/SBD and all of the sudden have all these customers coming in real life but more importantly ordering stuff ONLINE. Imagine all the online shops that dont make any sales, well imagine if they started accepting steem/sbd , well now all of our users have a simple way to spend their steem/SBD by just sending the steem/sbd and emailing them the Address for shipping! Eventually we will even have shipping addresses somehow in a database which only a vendor can see if you order something from them., like how EOS is planning with scatter and RIDL. So anyway I bet there are ALSO failing prepaid debit card companies which use Visa Mastercard or American Express or even DIscover cards. We can be like Roger in American Dad, we can be the vaporwave mall of the 80s that time forgot!
That 80s Discover Card mall, that can be OUR mall! Steem can rescue ALL the failing businesses that actually have good products! If we find a store that has nice expensive food but they have no sales, if they add Steem/SBD theyll make new business! Imagine all the shipments made!

I love it ackza. This is an amazing idea. And I agree 100%, it is time to up the thinking.
Token economics is here and we need to concentrate on turning STEEM into a viable economy tied to the larger economy as a whole. The on/off ramp with crypto is always a challenge but not that you showed how Bitpay is doing it, why cant the mainstream do it also.
Let the centralized entities in on the decentralized game....at least until they are not needed anymore.

@ackza Steem debit card!!! That's amazing. Team behind steem and steemit is doing great job and helping steem to grow worldwide. Steem debit card is one of the great project according to me. We do not want to wait for the cash, slow fiat transactions. Steem transactions are very fast and get completed within you blink your eyes.
