QUESTION: Is buying support the only route to success?

in steem •  7 years ago

Just wondering, more interested in what other people have to say as I'm too new here to have any valid opinion on this one yet. I'd be as against buying support as I was against arse licking in my career, I could just never bring myself to join 'em, which will probably mean I am doomed to a future of 4 or 5 views and a couple of upvotes, and to see poorer quality content get all the attention (although its may just be virtual attention I guess)

All input appreciated. Picture is unrelated, nice though isn't it :)

tumble weed, an often underrated plant, longest running plant based movie extra though!

I'd like to talk about this. I'm not sure how much info I've got, but let's keep the lines open and see how to do it, without being shmucks about it. I'm reading like crazy and watching for who is reputable. It's where to begin. I'm too afraid to jump into anything but it won't be long before I find good people who know what is going on and how to help us grow from baby fishies to big ones.

Looked into it a lot since posting. I’ve looked at many ‘successful’ posts, including those giving advice on success but not even mention vote buying and bots. With everyone you can look at their accounts, I’m yet to find single one that hasn’t sent steem dollars to buy votes. As I’m only on here to raise money to keep my youth project going, for my last two posts I’ve joined in too. It’s a real shame though, and if I was only on here personally I’d not do it, and would just not bother at all if it turned out not possible without it.

So you have tried it? I haven’t first I don’t know enough 2nd I’d like to build a following in other ways first. I have found different hashtags by looking at new and spending a while finding other things besides crypto. I’ve made a few friends. If I’m ever paying I feel like I should do all I can to make sure I’ve got plenty of content to back it up. BUT I’m not against it if that’s what has to be done? Right now Even though steam it has been around for two years we’re still early adopters feel like it will be much harder for people later so I better learn quick
