steem mining #1 - hashrate and hardware comparison page

in steem •  8 years ago  (edited)

Hello Steeminans miners,

I would like to create an hardware comparison page for everyone by updating this post.

Please, post a comment with your configuration, like this:

hardware | clock | hashrate | threads | RAM | OS | info

other information
1 - for each block you'll get ± 5000 VESTS = 1 STEEM 2 - with an average of 35 Khps you'll get 2-6 blocks day --> average time is about ±240minutes

Thanks to all

Happy #mining

You may see my hashrates for various CPUs in my comment to this post: https://steemit.com/mining/@kahir/steem-cpu-hashrate-comparison-thread

If you want useful information, be more specific with the CPU model and clockspeed. Also measure hashrate to one decimal, like I did.

how to check hashrate ?

i7 3820-3700MHz-8GB-win7 64- 7 threads
26400
but i am mining steem power and not steem directly!
please confirm.

true, you are mining SP (you'll see VESTS on your cli_wallet).
I'll add your information, thanks

What's SP ? is used for votes only ? grrrr...Can i win $$ making this, such as XMR ?

What about the profit.i cant see to find a calculator. What are the avarage coins earned per day or hour and coins per block.

Thank you very much!

mining in linux (which i'm not so competent with) 3570k @ 4.5GHz, 16KH/s. Surely something is wrong there? All 4 CPUs maxed out 100%

UPDATE:
Core 2 Quad Q8400 | 2.66 GHz | 11.8 khps | 4 | 8GB | Ubuntu 16.04

thanks!

How I can check real profit from mining? I don't sure that it work %)

  1. check you estimated time for get a block
it's not a static value, we take as example
    estimated time = 480 minutes = 6 hours
    your Khps = ± 25k
  2. 480 min = ± estimated 1 - 4 blocks day (maybe more, maybe less)
  3. profit
    1 block = ± 1 STEEM = ± 0.0053 BTC (from bittrex market data: )

Hi, I'm making the first test.... I see hashrate 11636 hps (Is this 11 Khps?).. The test is using 4 cpu processors in atlantic.net.. Because I'm using google, azure, digitalocean with monero :( But if I can win more $$ with steem, bye bye XMR. Is correct what I'm saying? :p

yes, 11636 = ± 11khps .
Steem mining is actually a very long long term investiment and the difficulty is rising

Sounds like a conservative analysis, thanks!

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz
32GB RAM DDR3 PC3-12800
7 of 8 threads @ 88% CPU usage, temperature 64°C (147°F). Application priority normal and CPU affinity set to 7 of 8 threads (0x7F).
Windows 7
37800 hps

Only started 12 hours ago but yet to find a block. Will test for a week and then probably move back to Lyra2RE.

And because I struggle to read from time to time.... :)

No problem. I think the hash rate should have been 37.8 if measuring in Khashes. Cheers.

AMD Athlon II X4 651K (Llano core; 1st gen APU cores @3ghz)
same as A8-3850/A8-3870K
16Khash -100%/all 4 cores -win7-8gb ddr3

DigitalOcean 2 core | 8700 hps #2 | 4 GB | Ubuntu | cpu usage > 70%

with 4 thread change nothing.. always 8500 - 8700 hps

I think you must add more threads in the config file....

Can anybody explain why estimated time

  • is 100 minutes for 90 000 hps
  • is 2700 minutes for 13 000 hps

Why time differs by 27 times while hash-rate differs only by 7 times?

Oh, and sometimes I see 5400 minutes for 13 000 hps!

i7-4770K| 4.00 | 35 | 8 | 8 | Win10 | 100 %

Xeon(R) L5410 8CPUs | @ 2.33GHz | 21K | 8 | 8Gb | Ubuntu 14 64bit | 85% Use

Hi there, what's the best way to start mining. In order to find the right equipment, mining difficulty and so on? I couldn't to find helpful information to answer my questions. Thank you in advance! :)

Is Steem still minable with CPU?

great info thanks
