Is there any way to prove that an account is actually yours, sort of like what onename.com does?
Anonymity is great but if you want to raise funds or make an important statment it may be good to have verified accounts.

You could sign a message using your key. The easiest way to do that right now would be on-blockchain, using the memo field of a transfer operation. I expect tools for offline-signing to be available soon.

Very good point. It would be nice if in the future Steem could add a feature to verify an account through e-mail, with verified accounts have more perks. Additional perks could also be added according to the account's seniority. But as of now, if you have set your private key and could sign-in (through Facebook maybe), then the account is definitely yours! But, further verification methods through e-mail or multi-sig/authy would be also appreciated!
