I woke up feeling like I was coming down with something. Despite the fact that it was the middle of the day, I felt chilled to the bone and knew I was going to be sick. It's not uncommon to go through various challenges in life, but feeling cold and shaking uncontrollably is particularly difficult. Even while huddled under blankets, I couldn't shake the feeling of being frozen. I wondered if my body was rebelling against me due to my tendency to eat cold food all day, or if I had simply been overworking myself. I also considered the possibility that the crystals on the table in front of my entrance were radiating cold air.
In an effort to warm up, I turned up the heating and covered myself with even more blankets, eventually breaking out into a sweat. When I woke up, it was 9:00 AM and the sun was directly overhead, indicating that I had overslept. I quickly ate breakfast and left my home.
On my walk, I came across the zelkova tree that I pass by every morning. Today, I noticed that two cans of makgeolli that had been placed under the tree were gone. It's possible that the person who left them there came back to retrieve them, or someone else took them to drink. Alternatively, they may have been removed as part of the cleaning process.
In any case, thanks to the snow, the two cans of makgeolli are still there. I hope that whoever made a wish on the tree will see their wish come true. The zelkova tree is a protected tree in our town, and has been standing in its current spot for over 300 years. I hope to do my part in protecting it for many more years to come. Every morning, I make sure to pay a visit to the tree as if to say hello.
I hope all Steemians have a great day today.
