This is exactly my attitude. I spend time on Reddit and Twitter because I enjoy it and I learn from. I never made a single buck from it, neither did I expect to.
So I don't expect to make any money from Steemit. I just post and interact with people like I do in any other social media. The fact that I may earn something out of it is an enormous bonus with no precedence.
So, enjoy Steemit as a social network first. That's the key. :)

Steemit is super fun! I have learned to be grateful with what it does give me and not be upset when my posts dont get too much attention.

I also read that you should actually make replys rather then posting so many root level comments. Great to know you can post 4-6 each day with out penalty. If like post more then 10 per day great! Where do you stay? Your property is awesome!

On another post about steemit. They were also talking about how you should comment more often then make posts. I'm not sure which blog I was reading. Didn't expect to ever mention it. It was a post someone commented on my blog like a list of welcome to steemit information.
