What has changed in just under a year

Have you taken a moment and thought what has changed and what is happening on here lately. This place is not just sitting idle waiting for the Steem price to rise and just expecting masses to arrive. Everyone is being pro active and making sure success is coming. there is a wave of positiveness now which wasn't here a year ago.

When I joined Steem last year in March there wasn't much happening besides the posting and commenting that we have have today on the platform. There was Steemit and Busy.org at the time and very little else. I remember others were complaining saying where were the masses. If we look back Steem was not ready for them and we should be grateful they never arrived.

Today we look around and there are choices everywhere.Steem seems to be a hive of development today and nothing just stands still. This is definitely not the same place that I found a year ago.I think one of the biggest changes was the introduction of resource credits and think it was a success.

Look what we have now and then you can see the growth. I wont list them all as there are just too many and this is only the start. Apps like Esteem have come from nowhere and are extremely popular.They have a fantastic business model and seem to be going from strength to strength. Others that have changed Steemit by luring users away with their interface are Steempeak,Partiko,Steeve, Steemplus and wherein which is the Chinese app.

Gaming has slowly transformed the platform making it quieter than normal with a high percentage playing Steem Monsters and Drug wars. There are other options as well like steem Slots and Magic Dice for those who like to have a flutter.

Steemhunt,Tasteem, Actifit and Musing appeared and Steemhunt is about to have it's one year anniversary.Musing surfaced around 7 months ago or so and was very popular , but they didn't have a proper business model and sadly look as though they have come and gone.I think that was a good lesson for all the others as it just showed you can't just rely on delegation.

I think the next 12 months will see even bigger strides as new developments happen. The apps that are here will develop and improve their offering. I noticed esteem was doing translations for their site and expect others to follow suit to really open the platform to users globally. These are exciting times and I am so happy to be a part of it today.
