As @SpiritualMax waves goodbye to his third armada, the ships raise anchor with all of the brave souls who will colonize the New World.
The ships carry the colonists, supplies, tools and soldiers, as the challenge will be beaten no matter the cost.
The valiant colonists know this.
The colonists breathe in the fresh air and prepare to take their first steps into this brave New World!
Refreshing: The Rules!
The game is pretty simple.
Each colonist has his/hers own colony. At first, it is lackluster of course, but with time they'll develop into profitable hubs of trade, commerce, industry, or even war.
The turns are weekly and they are made of 4 distinct phases:
- Resource Phase;
- Colony Phase;
- Action Phase;
- Diplomacy Phase;
In each of these phases, you'll have different actions available depending on what you have at your disposal that turn (that week).
At any time, a user can state that he wants his colony to be inactive so it is paused in its current state. This is useful if the colonist doesn't want to play or wish to pause his colony suffering no risks.
His steem and sbd income are safe.
Let's Start!
@Amymya's Colony:
@amymya spent some time constructing her Lean To. It isn't perfect, but it will serve as a shelter while she is still setting up her new colony.
She had enough food on her bellies and is now rested, so she feels strong and yet cold.
If only she could get warmer all her needs would be tended to.
This week, her profits were 0.22 SBD and 0.005 STEEM

@bluntsmasha has amassed quite a bit of stone and wood now, he used what he gathered from the mining and trade to build a lean-to.
He felt great having the ability to rest, and even shared it with his best friend the miner.
He couldn't forage this, but that's not a bad thing as he has plenty of food available for the next week.
But maybe he should leave the colony one more week to forage, wouldn't hurt?... hmm... decisions, decisions.

@CarrieAllen's Colony:
@carrieallen slept on her brand new lean-to this week. It surely felt well to be rested.
On the other hand, she hired a Lumberjack and tasked him to work for the colony.
She decided this week, she would go on a quest with her lumberjack.
QUEST RESULTS:
SUCCESS - Won 1 SBD
@carrieallen ventured into the jungle with her lumberjack, and they soon noticed some tracks.
They seemed...human!
They quietly stalked them and found:
- THE CANNIBAL'S ENCAMPMENT!
She was lucky as she didn't alert the 6 spearmen standing watch. They went back and made sure to note that they were WEST of them.
CHOICE TIME!
Now that you found the Cannibal's Encampment, you can choose what other colonist you want to inform, if any, or even more than one, maybe all.
It's up to you... remember that information is an asset.

Rumors say that the lumberjack wasn't too happy about that and promised revenge.

@Royaleagle's Colony:
As @royaleagle is new on the new world, he first needs to ensure he has enough food to survive.
That was the line of thought when he decided to go forage. He didn't have any luck though as he found out his colony is rich in stone, but scarce in food.
On the other hand, he halved his cold by warming up on @carrieallen's colony, but once he returned home he found out there was no escaping the cold grasp of a barren colony.

@Swolesome's Colony:
THE DRUMS ECHO: CANNIBAL ATTACK!
@swolesome was going to quest this turn, but all of the week's activities changed drastically when a small scouting party of cannibals appeared at the distance.
Coming towards the camp, 3 Cannibal Spearmen (2 defense) charged at @swolesome.
He grabbed his woodcutting axe and the builder came running with his hammer to defend their colony.
Battle ensued.
Cannibals (6 Defense) vs Colonists (6 Defense)
RESULTS:
Your sight went red with rage and the frenzy of battle, the builder is no soldier but there's no better motivator than to defend one's home.
He did his part.
Your builder killed a cannibal in a fluke of luck, and you were able to take the other two.
Unfortunately, when you turned back you saw your builder was dead.
Your SP is now free to hire another worker this turn.
The cannibals won't probably attack for a few weeks.
Turn Report:
In honor of the fallen builder and because you feared venturing outside, you built the lean-to yourself.
After looting the corpses, you found a usable spear that will give its wearer 1 Defense. You can equip it yourself or on a legionnaire if you have any.

QUEST SUCCESS:
You and your builders ventured out into the jungle and took the right turns, it seems, as you saw smoke in the distance.
You order your builders to watch the encampment for a week until you find out this encampment belongs to the Non-Cannibal Natives.
Their leader Yetu sent scouts towards you and you prepared to fight.
They made gestures in a non-threatening way and asked you to follow them.
You met his leader who apparently speaks your language, even if only slightly.
He tells you he wishes you no harm, and that he is open to trade any resource he currently has IF you station and feed an entourage of at least 25 defense in his camp to protect them from the Cannibals.
You bear this in mind.
He also tells you he can rent archers from his tribe. Renting an archer costs not only his upkeep in food, but also 2 gold per week. Archers have 10 Defense.
You bear this in mind.
DECISION TIME:
It is up to you to decide who are you going to disclose the position of the Yetu Natives to.
You can tell everyone, just some people or even noone...

Hear Ye, Hear Ye - I have an important message for all of my fellow colonists of the new empire!
I have taken on the task of recording and bearing witness to all that transpires within the empire so that it may forever live on in the annals of history!
I cannot possibly complete such a large undertaking without the support and approval of my fellow colonists. Therefore I will pledge to maintain good diplomatic relations with any colony who approves of my bearing witness to the events that happen herein.
As an initial act of diplomacy, I would like to offer to trade 4 food in exchange for 3 wood to anyone who supports my efforts.

Hmm, no quests this week eh, that was my first thought, my second was damn I need some safety it's wild out there. I don't see any options to "have anyone stand gaurd" so I actually have a question. Is it assumed someone is watching or should is say something like "I will sacrifice production to have workers each preform lookout duty for 1/5th of there workday". I'm getting worried about getting decimated by some cannibals?
Otherwise if guard duty is assumed or it won't help I'll just set the miner to mine, lumberjack to get lumber, foragers to forage. I will also mine myself along with the builder this turn for the lack of quests.
I would also be open to trading my current surplus of 5 food for either wood or stone with anyone to start getting some building materials.

Question Phase! @yabapmatt's colony receives -10% production for annoying @spiritualmax :-P
If I hire a farmer, how much food production does he provide (assuming that's what he does)?
Can a farmer do his thing without having a Barn built? If so, what do you get for building a Barn?
If lumberjacks/miners/foragers/builders cost 50 SP each then why can i only hire 28 of them with 1,500 SP available? Shouldn't it be 30?
I noticed I don't have a production decrease from lack of shelter anymore, I'm assuming because I built a Lean-To. Is that one Lean-To enough shelter for all 21 of the people in my colony? Or is the shelter / debuffs only for myself and the other workers have their own shelter?
What is the advantage of building an Wooden House vs the Lean-To I have?
Can we see what buildings or other structures we've built in our colonies on future update posts or somewhere else? As the game progresses it will be hard to remember what things we've built already and what they do.
Do all the buildings I have available to build right now take 1 builder 1 week to build? Or will some of them take longer / require more builders?
If I trade for more wood right now, can i build something else this turn or do i need to wait until next turn to get and use that wood?
That's all for now...loving the game!

After enjoying our first night of true rest under the lean-to, I decided to thank my builder.
@creativetruth: Listen Brick, you did a fantastic job building us a shelter. For that you deserve a reward. I'm going to employ you for another week, and after that you can you work where ever you want, and come back and visit any time. Right now we have a lot of important work to do. We need a fireplace and we need a wall. A really big wall! There are reports of cannibals out there, and they are all criminals. If you see any, do not invite them in or offer them sanctuary, run as fast as you can and alert the Imperial Outpost. They know how to handle these dirty crooks. Same goes with that lumberjack I fired last week. He can't be trusted. I won't let allow these terrorists to harm us, or destroy the marvelous structures you are building here. That's not the Truthville way. And to make the Empire great again, everybody has to work hard and stick together. As appreciation, I made you this coconut drink. Personally, I don't drink, but I thought you might like it. It's called a Cocojito. I made it with coconut and some fresh mint from @norwegianbikeman's N.B.M farms and Forager inc.. Enjoy!

@swolesome, there is legend of your bravery already spreading far and wide. Is it true that you fought off a group of cannibals spearmen with only small handaxe? Very impressive. I'm going to send a letter to The Great Emperor @spiritualmax, and request that you be knighted, with high honors for your valor and skill in battle.
Very sorry for the loss of your builder. So sad. He was a visionary, and his memory will be preserved for the ultimate sacrifice he paid. He didn't have to settle in these dangerous lands, but he chose to serve of his own free will, and he served valiantly to his last breath. A true hero, much like yourself.
If you ever need an ally again in your fight to combat these criminal terrorists, because that's what they are, do not hesitate to ask. They are a menace, and they must be stopped so the good colonists of this land can build the future of tomorrow. If I ever hear sounds of combat from your lands, I will be there with my agents to help at a moment's notice. My axe is yours.

Ok i will hire a forager. And equip the spear to myself. Knowing the canibals will not attack I will sneak from the encampment with the legionaires after winning their respect for my valiant actions in combat. Then we will harvest wood and forage for food. They get paid regardless and appreciate leaving the colony for the day. I am curious to see how strong and productive the emperor's best are.

I will walk cautiously to the area where I heard the sounds of battle coming from, while keeping an eye out for danger. I am hoping to find anything useful left behind from the battle that could help me in the future building my colony up and protecting myself. I will also sleep naked in my lean-too if the weather is nice and not too cold.

I will forage for some food! While my men prepare building the shelter. As winter still isn’t here a shelter is important and I will get them some food! If it only takes one to make the shelter I will use my other one to get wood.

WTF Max? You misunderstood my words in Round 2.
Originally, I asked for this:
Then you told me I'd overspent so I said:
Meaning 1 builder to build lean-to and fireplace instead of 2 builders
And
2 foragers instead of 4 to forage for food.
On top of the things I didn't want adjusting!!!!

@norwegianbikeman, your foods were so delicious and healthy, I can't imagine thinking of eating anything else. Do you have any more of that Grey Poupon? You were right, it tastes so divine on salad.
We are happy to export our wood to your colony, in exchange for your fine foods. Would you be interested in an on-going exchange of services? I want you to have enough wood to build a wall so you can protect those precious farmlands.
Diplomacy:
Trade 1 wood with @norwegianbikeman, for 1 food

Feeling pretty good my successful quest, but a little worried about being able to feed our little encampment, I decide take the BUILDER to FORAGE FOR FOOD. We've gotten quite chummy and like spending time together anyway. Plus, we now know the dangers that lurk to the west.
I leave the LUMBERJACK to spread the word that I'll be holding a special meeting for all the colonists.
I have information that could be detrimental to your growing communities. However, I took quite the risk seeking this info and cannot give it away for free.
Any colonist that wishes to know what I've found can pay 1 WOOD, 1 STONE, or 1 FOOD to be privy to the information.
The meeting will be held the eve before the next colonist ship arrives. After that, deal is off the table, as we don't know anything about the incoming colonists.
Colony Phase: NONE
Action Phase: FORAGE FOR FOOD with my Builder (as the lumberjack is busy this turn, but I send him on an easy errand)
Diplomacy Phase: I've sent the Lumberjack around to the colonist leaders inviting them to a special meeting. Cost at the door: 1 Wood OR 1 Stone OR 1 Food.
Side note: Though the thought crossed my mind, I've not made any enemies yet to offer to the Cannibals. I hope that doesn't come to fruition, but will do what I must to protect my colony.
I've been watching the other colonists closely and only have a worry about one. Be careful out there fellow colonists! There could be someone in our midsts that's NOT to be trusted. Watch their words. Watch their actions. Take heed! Together we can succeed!

Welcome fellow colonist!
Thank you for your contribution. (1 STONE)
It seems we've stumbled upon the CANNIBAL natives encampment (without being noticed). Take heed they are located to the WEST of us. Those not present at this meeting will not be privy to this information.
I hope it brings you insight and safety on your future quests.
We'll keep in touch.

After the Imperial Outpost takes their first pick of stones from the DoEMaAC's stone Mine, I am willing to trade (for a fair price) any surplus stones among our fellow colonists in exchange for food and protection.
