I joined Binance a few days back, loved the low fee and variety of coins it offers, Only confused about one thing, Although came to know of it on youtube when i tried to register there was a referral code already there and as much as i wanted i could not change it or delete it. I did not get to the site from the youtube link I just googled it and followed the first link that looked like a legitimate link to the site and not a promotion. Why would that have happened ? I signed on nevertheless. Hope its not some sort of Phising scam.

    Well, you obvious Google searched it, found something about it on some website who provided a registration link with its referral code. And normally, as Binance Exchange uses cookies as every website today does (at least to a certain extent) it memorized you and that's why you weren't able to get rid of it. It also prevents cheating, meaning being brought to the site with one referral and afterward wanting to assign with a different one.
    Maybe you should read Binance Privacy Policy and take a look the paragraph about cookies.
