Never write a post in a Steemit editor or why Steemit definitely needs an undo button

Steemit

I'm frustrated right now like crazy. I have been writing a very long post in Steemit editor. I usually do that in Microsoft Word but since I found that Steemit saves the text as the draft, even after you close the browser, I thought why not to write in Steemit editor instead?

And guess what, I was doing that for the last 3 posts, and it was okay. But then, I was writing this post, which was very long, and I just did something, some random action with my mouth, and the whole text was gone (it turned out I hit clear button) . I tried to reverse the actions, but it didn't work. I tried all of the other things but they didn't work either. That was a total failure.

Steemit definitely needs an undo button.

The saddest part was that I spent the whole hour to write the post, and it's gone :(

I hope if I will have enough patience to write it from scratch, I will do that.

But for now, please learn from my mistake - never write posts in Steemit editor ever again, if you did it before.

Some kind of draft/autosave function which saves every few minutes would also help.

Absolutely.

You most likely clicked the clear button, and there seems to be no way to undo this action not even ctrl+z.
The steemit editor needs an undo button.

Yeah, I guess so. I just tried it. It doesn't get the text back. At least I know what was the problem. Thanks.

I have done this too. Oh how I almost punched myself when I realised twenty minutes of tapping away on my smartphone was lost because I hit 'back'. So I feel your pain as you had obviously written far more than me that time and that had made me feel awful!

Yeah, that feels not that awesome. I wanna kill myself write now but instead I decided to share my experience, so that others won't repeat it.

"some random action with my mouth" lol

Exactly, I have no idea what it was but I cannot get the text back.

Ohh god, terrible!!! ): so sorry for u

Have you tried CTRL+Z ? I just wrote a comment then erased it, used it and it works.

Of course I tried, it didn't work. I suppose I didn't just erase it but did something more weird.
