Steem.Supply Update: API Calls Updated, Page Load Time Improved

in steem •  7 years ago

On January 6th, a popular Steem node was retired, so calls made to it were no longer working. Also, the underlying API backend was changed, websocket being replaced with http/json calls. I've been a little late to this party, so to speak, but I eventually "attended", so I spent the last few hours cleaning up the php API calls I'm using in steem.supply.

I've been doing a lot of testing and, from my end, everything looks fine and loading times are significantly lower. It wouldn't hurt to pay a short visit to the site, see how it's loading or if you're still experiencing problems and then just head back here and leave me a comment.

Thanks and steem on!

aw that is just great! I check the website every day :)

100% upvote from me as i use this everyday and now it seems more stable so i know you have been working on it. thank you for your time and effort matey ;)

Thanks a bunch! :)

Why are there multiple bandwidth issue with Steemit lately? Several Steemians contacted me several times in this week regarding this issue. Will it be solved or continued?

please test it for yourself, that's what this post is about, from my part I think it's solved.

Thanks.

Yes, loading times are improving. Thanks. In lower level accounts says 18 USD I detected an error. Next time I will point out exactly what I am seeing. But looks like missing a Zero somewhere in the division, since the number I saw was $180, but the real true value was 18. I will keep my eyes open. The error is in new account with very low SP.

K, let me know what you see, thanks for the feedback!

working smoothly and faster than before

Somewhat relevant: can you include curation rewards to show?

That's a very common request, I'm thinking about how this can be done.

I guess it needs every upvote from the last 7 days to be checked through a Steem blockchain API and then estimate with a formula.

May not be so easy, and I can also imagine it being resource-heavy or time-consuming but good luck!

I don't know if you can do this without creating an account, but I'd love to be able to set a default for steem rewards instead of the toggle back and forth.

Possible, or is it more trouble than its worth?

At this moment it's more trouble that its worth, but I'm integrating this with steemconnectv2, so you'd be able to have some sort of an account here.

Awesome no worries then. Looking forward to the day it's a possibility and good luck with the integration.

Was not able to access it for quite some time ,seems like it has become a very important part of Steemit to me and I really hope to others as well :)
Glad it is working well again ,liked the toggle USD/STU and the display of SBD & SP :)
Thanks buddy !

Loading pretty fast....3-5 secs I think

You shouldn't encourage people to complain :))
On the serious side I'm glad steem.supply is working again, though it doesn't load very fast on my end. I use chrome .

Thanks for all your work, indeed the loading time is lower than yesterday! congrats! cheers @dragosroua

Did steem.supply load yesterday? I check it every other day and i could not use it yesterday.

Yes! For me worked with a bit of delay, pressed f5 several times, but it was working!

Loads really fast now. Happy to have this resource back! Thank you.

I have been visiting it for a few hours and only once got an error. So I think you did a really great job improving the loading speed!

I appreciate it. Steem.supply and steemd are my rocks for info!

I was just using it today and it seemed so much faster with loading, on par with other sites with still the crazy amount of detail that is on the report. Nice work :).

Was finally able to check mine at steem.supply! Thank you, I'm now getting better at understanding my pay outs. And voted for you too...

Have a nice day.

yup..it's a working..

Just tested. Seems to work pretty fast.
Thank you for your work!

Good work! Appears to be working again on my end without overload. :)

great work with the steem.supply bee really helpful to not just me but every new steemian I invite to this platform as it gives a calculation of your expected payout be it comments or post to that I say a very Big THANK YOU and keep up the great work

Looks good, noticed it became faster and more reliable before I noticed this post! Thank you for the hard work and cool tool :)

Thanks @dragosroua. You do wonderful work and I tell each newcomer I interact with to use steem.supply as one of their main apps for info.

I love how you altered it to reflect the conversion from S.T.U. to dollars. That is really an amazing change to better reflect pay outs. It is also an inspiration to newer people who were complaining that they got a measly 20 cents for a post...well it is .20 STU which amounts to a bit more.

I will upvote this post as soon as my VP recharges...I nuked it a bit more than I like.

Thanks for all you do.

I have re-opened the site few times in the last few minutes on various browsers and loading seems to be faster up to 30-40%. I have that feeling.
That is sweet. :)
There were some really nice updates this week :) Great job :)

It is true that the last three days steemsupply could not open me. However, I did add up the necessary modifications or errors on the server. Thanks for your work

You are doing a great job, this app is a great analytic for steemit platform.

Observation

  • I noticed the disparity between my voting strength on steemnow.com and steem.supply.

  • my potential payouts is not equal to sum of posts and comments payouts.

I do not know if anyone noticed these too, or it is from my end.

Can you give me more details? Did you check which currency you have the display set up to (SBD or STU)?

your work is very god

Thank you so much!

I finally have been able to use steem.supply and the new updates are beyond impressive! No complaints from me what so ever!

great work , It is a great improvement thanks !

I had seen the improvement on the website, thank you very much for this great tools, it's helping me to much to improve my steemit blog, with all the information and data provided.

tried opening it and now loading instantly

Congratulation to Steemians.
