Steem.Supply Update: The Bandwidth Graph Replaced With Mana

in steem •  6 years ago

As I was trying to find something to do during the painful replay of my main and backup witness nodes yesterday, I decided to fiddle with the new RC (Resource Credit) API and replaced the - already obsolete - bandwidth graph on stem.supply with the new Mana metric. Apparently, at the moment of writing I was the happy owner of more than 5 trillion mana (after suffering with a negative mana in excess of 14 quadrillion during the patching of my witness nodes)

As you can see, it just display the rough data as it's received from the API call, as things will stabilize with the new RC mechanism I will try to find a better way of putting this out visually.

What you need to know for now is that if you have negative mana you can't interact with the blockchain.

Steem on!

Wanna know when you're getting paid?

I know the feeling. That's why I created steem.supply, an easy to use and accurate tool for calculating your Steemit rewards

It's free to use, but if you think this is a useful addition, I'd appreciate your witness vote.

Thank you!

I was going to ask you how you figured out what the numbers mean.
Cause they haven't been explained what the numbers are for.

The best i can figure is that i am going to have to cut back on commenting.

Not sure what i should do with voting. keep on voting and hope the meter fills up slowly? Go away for 4 days?

It's supposed to reach an equilibrium at some point in the next 5 days. That's all I know for now, if there's anything new, I'll write about it.

cool update

what do you think about this change????? is this be helpful for steemit user???

What is mana?? What does that word stands for?? Technical Jargon??

Just a single Upvote burned 🔥 23% of my dust voting power.!!!

Bug, check @steemitblog post.

Steem on!
Kind of hard to do that. Part of steemit is voting. 2 days ago a person could easily cast 10 votes. Today, If all you wanted to do was cast votes you might manage 4 votes at the most. If you want to claim any rewards, or make a post or a couple of comments then good luck on making those 4 votes. Claim rewards at 100% mana went to less than 50% mana, one 100% vote went to 35% mana, One comment went to 32% mana, one edit 30% mana. Vote value at 100% yesterday was $0.033 100% vote power today $0.010. So yes by all means if you can:

steem on.

I saw a comment claiming that posting/commenting also drains VP because it depletes mana. Can you check it somehow?:)

do we know how much RC "costs" per vote-comment or it is equivalent to our sp?

it's a function of your SP and it's linked to the overall blockchain activity as well. Still working my way out through the code.

aa ok thanks. Apparently it costs a bit. i made around 10 comments and 3-4 upvotes and from around 30% rc status it went 22% and after that comment 21% :P

sorry in advance that i don't upvote your comment but you know :P
