I Just Lost 100 Steem.

SBD steem.png

Last night I was given the opportunity to leave work early... and I took it.

I told myself I wasn't going to...

That extra hour worked would be worth at least 100 Steem.

And this kinda blew my mind.

$0.14 > 1 Steem...
$1.4 >> 10 Steem...
$14 >> 100 Steem...

wtf... is that math correct?

I'm getting consistently upvoted by whales on my blog and I might get paid 20 Steem after the 50% curation tax. It's possible that working an hour at a shitty paying job can get me more Steem than a week of being upvoted by high stakes accounts. Mind blowing.

I seriously believe in Steem's heinous liquidity issues.

From printing too much SBD, to staking, to resource credits,
Steem is so incredibly oversold right now.

I went very all-in during summer thinking that bull run would apply to Steem. Yikes, we all know how that ended. Even 40 cent Steem is cheap to me. This 13 cent stuff is ridiculous.

I've personally been valuing Steem at around 80 cents.

Have been for quite some time.
This is a support I think Steem could have held,
if we didn't have all these liquidity dumps.

And it's also somewhat killing me that I'm holding all this Litecoin when I could just power it on up right now at these prices. I want them Steem powers!

Conclusion

There's going to be a lot more opportunities for me to leave work early.
Hopefully I don't take them.
Gimme them coins.
100 is a lot.

I just lost 500€ in BTC..
Wanted to buy 'em at a BTC ATM last thursday.. but they're still not on my wallet :/
Already contacted the support, now I'm waiting..

Condolences.

I know that even if you end up getting the money,
the stress of maybe not getting it is still significant.

I have in mind that even a support at 1$ could be held. Why the hell not actually...

PS. With that very same mentality I've managed to reach 20K SP. We'll enjoy those "fruits" later on when all those who kept overselling at these ridiculous prices will crawl back seeking attention when the price goes up

Truly!

Remember when Steem was trading at $2-$4 and everyone was just frantically powering up because creating that inflation for free was a huge motivator? It happened before, it will happen again. The only catalyst that is needed is the mindset that we are out of the bear market.

Where did you lose it?
I will help you look!

I just sucked one hour of your life away.

How marvelous!

I find it crazy that people would rather spend $5 on a cup of coffee than 30 Steem. I understand that not everyone is going to get large upvotes, but nearly everyone could secure their future position here now.

Well my coffee costs 15 Malaysian ringgit for a bag that makes me at least 30 cups of Joe so that's 12 cents a cup but i haven't ever even considered buying steem as the numbers speak for themselves and I find it crazy anyone would actually spend what I pay for my delicious Vietnamese drip coffee and buy a steem..

Securing a future position made me laugh though so I appreciate that 😂

The future position is very important. People aren't going to be able to afford 30 Steem and then they'll have to get creative if they want to use this blockchain (mostly RC pools). As a minnow you are in an extremely good position going forward.

That would be amazing and I'm not saying its impossible its just something that makes me giggle when I think about trying to explain to my wife that i am sitting pretty with a coin I made from blogging or trolling depending on my mood.. As it stands now my organic rewards barely covers the cost of a phone, my data, and electricity so that I can be a Minnow. And I'm only a Minnow because of 2 dudes..

A big mac meal here is about 50 steem

Yes mcdonaldization is funny as that exact same Big Mac meal doesn't even cost 30 steem here.. Gas is also only 50 cents a litre or 2 USD a gallon.. There is plenty in the world that's crazy and it begins to make sense when understanding the mechanisms n motivations of faith based economies.. Bitcoin climb 25% in a few days due to a rather generalised comment from the leader of China, steem is only tethered to the dips. That secure future where I buy everyone in the extended family a Big Mac with steem seems distant IMHO.

People don't realize the opportunity until it's gone. When the blockchain is filled to the brim with custom JSON and everyone is running out of RCs they'll finally get it... and then they'll pump their money in at the top and lose it all over again.

I think that once it catches on, people will force their way in. For a while the larger accounts will sell, but that will run dry too.

So you lost a $1.30 - $1.50.

lol I thought the math was pretty clear :D
guess not

I honestly didn't read it. More of vent about the Steem price.

I bought Steem at $3.00. I've lost quite a bit that I will never see again.

'Never' eh? We'll be back at $3 in less than two years.
This chain is one of the most volatile ones out there.

Okay, okay, never is a long time. 3 years to get even is (was) a bad decision on my part.

That's crazy good news!

I agree 100% with you.

It is not make a difference to buy 100 steem or leave work early.

Maybe I'm delusional but I think even $0.80 Steem is a bargain when thinking long term. Barring a complete collapse of value in Steem to zero, I don't see it staying below a dollar for much longer.

How about participating in a "Passive income" proposal right here on Steemit?
It is a great way to take advantage of your SP without any risks.
Have you heard about our "@Project.Hope"?

Together with @crypto.piotr I've been working on it for few months already and recently we've launched our website. It's still kind of a "construction zone" :)

If you think so, could check it out: https://www.projecthope.pl/

You may find section "passive income" particularly interesting. Our delegators have been receiving benefits for two weeks now.

Please, check it out and let me know what do you think. Your opinion would be a gold mine for me.

Your friend, Juan

Well, these prices are a steal as far as I'm concerned, next mission is to get to 20k SP by the end of the year and reach Dolphin Mark II.

It is pretty mad when you think about it like that. I prefer a cheeky bulk buy at certain points and only started putting money in when we got down to £0.13 per steem a month or so ago, now it's £0.10-0.11 per steem... Let me at it!
