This sounds like an excellent idea. I agree that fear of retilation may be a more prominent mechanism that circumventing downvotes than the economics are. Hope this idea is followed up further...

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
