What would happen if all websites started relying on Steem to publish content?

Considering it's possible without any scalability issues... Discuss.

So...

What would it take to get everyone onboard?
What would it mean for professional careers like journalists, artists, or teachers?

How would you see yourself in that environment, a success story, a guru, a megastar?

I was just pondering it myself and wanted to bring these questions forth.

I personally would think it would make for a completely different landscape for creatives and alike. We'd be the pioneers of course, maybe both targets of revere, and to envy. But what I'd find most interesting is that everyone could communicate their business freely, and others can access and reward it without middlemen taking a cut in every step.

Since it's all public anyway, we could have our national tax services tap into the blockchain and we could automate the taxation process so that we wouldn't even have to worry about accounting as the blockchain is already our ledger.

I think #Steem could be that future.

See ya!

I think it would be beneficial for all. And artists who are not yet recognized and for us, there will be more people, there will be more income

If I were dictator, this is how Steem income would be taxed:

The Finnish Tax Authority would have an account on Steem, say @taxfinland, and it would run bots to track all transactions by known residents of Finland. It would calculate the taxes owed according to easily understood and sensible rules. It would send a weekly bill in a message which could be paid in STEEM or SBD. It would power up some of the taxes paid, which would most likely make it a large stakeholder eventually. It would replace @suomibotti and dole out big upvotes to every tax paying account. :)

I would actually prefer an automatic taxation to a weekly bill.

Impossible to do on the Steem blockchain unless you authorize a bot to transfer money from your account through SteemConnect. I'd prefer not to do that. But maybe a smart contract on SteemEngine could do that in a decentralized manner. But if you get a bill, at least you can check it first for errors and not pay until possible mistakes have been sorted out.

I so much agree with this comment. One of the things most people enjoy on the platform is that no-one except them has control over their account so, an automatic taxation would defy that.

As much as I would have loved your idea, it's so painful my country's eyes are not yet open to the blockchain world.

I think talented people here can find that push in to great fame, because people from all over the world are on the platform. And that would be good for everyone

This sounds wonderful, but until the big players step out, and actually get out of the way, it's never going to happen. As long as the current political environment stands, at least.

Hmm... what then? I mean if the "big players" are gone, who will be next? Us?

Not at all. Because we do things correctly. The problem that exists right now is purely dealing with centralization. Once that goes away, then we have nothing to worry about.

Steem will definitely moon and stay there if this were to be the case. 😄

Nice thoughts! Blockchain is the future but the elites will find a way to control and tax the networking effect!

I'd say we'd have a chance still. Even the taxman needs to obey the law. There's no way they could introduce excessive taxation into blockchain only, as it would have to be incorporated into law first, and mutually apply to all taxpayers the same way.

Yes, let’s hope so. But people can be bought if the amount is the right one! The white hats will be fighting with those black hats in this cyber world.

Yes, but to implement laws, it takes time. We should advertise and make Steem popular before new stupid laws can be bought and implemented.
