How do you feel about the SMT release date of 2019?

A mixed of feeling came over me when I saw the headlines that they finally announced the release date of SMT. I was super excited because that it has been something I have been looking towards even back from summer 2017. Something in me had hoped to see it become a reality within 2018 (actually back then it was about this period I had anticipated it to come out). But here we are, SMT somewhere between 8 to 9 months away. A reality that both sucks but also brings me a lot of excitement.

I personally got happy to see some actual dates, even though it was not what I expected, I am still overall positive, why?

Because this shows that the team is working within a realistic timeframe. I am sure they already knew a lot of people would not take it kindly to see it would first be by 2019, but they did it anyway. This is called being professional and realistic. To me getting a better product a bit later are better than having it rushed within a shorter period. Trust me I have witnessed that with other scenarios and you do not want it although our impatience might tell us otherwise.

Some people even talk about they much rather wanted it to have stayed a secret all in the name of the value of steem. I think this way of thinking will be even more damaging in the long term. It is like promising something to a kid and then wait until the day has surpassed that it all was a lie. If they know the date, they might as well give us it now regardless of the reaction. Anyways it is better to have it now while we are floating in the bear market, I have a feeling even if they released SMT today it will not matter one bit in these conditions we see at the overall cryptomarket.

I am not even sure if that one can applied here. But honestly, with a steem price of 80 cents it is a great time to get yourself a good spot for the ride in the future. Both buying steem and earning it through posting are both very easy now. Just build your investment while we wait for the rise once again. Imagine your posts merely have to reach 1 dollar for you to get more than 1 steem right now. Back when we had the bull run I remember even 20 dollar posts barely gave 3 or 4 steem(also talking about steem power here)

As @meno said in his previous post, steem right now is a gold rush where everybody rushes to the steem blockchain to get the gold, but there are no gold to be found. Now with SMT, steem will be the shovel industry just like Etherium and the others. We are gonna be the one who sells the shovels regardless if there's gold or not, we will still be sustaining as long as people buy. The question is if SMT will be enough to convince people of this? Will we be attractive enough to convince people that our shovels are better?

One thing is for certain I am not selling any large amount of steem until we see the outcome of this, and should the likely event of success happen, I would not have the balls to sell even after that. I am here for the long term, and that means years for me.
