SUGGESTION: Get rid of the "$ and decimal point on votes.

in steem •  9 years ago

It's redundant to have the "$" and "0.00" from a user interaction perspective. Perhaps have the financial info on a mouse hover tool tip.

The focus shouldn't be on $, but the content...

Or at least it should be possible to turn it off. It just bugs me.

I think the "$" sign implies US dollars and might disappoint some people/newbies.

It actually holds the same values as USD. So why would they be disappointed?

If it really bothers you, use ublock to block the element. just right click on it and select block element or paste the below and hit "create"
This will remove the value but not the upvote button

###content > .App > .App__content > .Post > .row:nth-of-type(1) > .column > .hentry.PostFull > .align-middle.row.PostFull__footer > .column:nth-of-type(1) > .Voting > .Voting__inner > .DropdownMenu

Do the same process for the frontpage

thanks. it really does bug me. it's more of a subconscious level. Can't really articulate why.

I disagree. The symbol sends a loud and clear message to new users what is going on.
