A good proverb. A person who plans revenge inflicts wounds that would otherwise have healed and healed long ago. Truly, making revenge, a person becomes like his enemy, and forgiving the enemy, he surpasses it.

Revenge is not a solution to our problems, it makes things worse @luppers

@luppers, True words and in my opinion KARMA is ultimate aspect because what you will release it will return.

Hey luppers,

I would agree with the not getting revenge part, but I really don't think anyone should stand idly by when someone tries to wrong you either. When you are being wronged, you have every right to defend yourself against the wronging. For example if a kid was getting picked on by a bully that physically assaulted him took his lunch money everyday, the victim physically defending himself against the bully would not be a wrong, but would be a right. Or if said victim informed his parents and the school of what was going on which in turn took appropriate action to get the bully to stop, I would not see that as getting revenge but as means to stop the assaulting. I think retaliation for something that is not in defense would be wrong which is probably what the proverb is alluding too.

Good thought exercise though :)

I try to teach my kids that very thing. Sometimes I feel it falls on deaf ears here at home. But I hear good things when they come back from school or a friends house. If there are altercations, they seem to do the right thing out in the world. Thanks for sharing @luppers.
