News

I have noticed that I don't actually need to stay up to date with any news. My friends tell me all the important stuff anyway. So with that in mind, Steem is more than enough for me to stay up to date regarding political and world news.

Technology and Trends

Until now I have been using reddit as my source of information related to technology, because it's so efficient. I can subscribe to the topics that interest me, and other people do the sorting for me. Now that people have the incentive to source the interesting things to Steem, I don't need to rely on any other platform anymore.

Philosophy and Questions

For philosophy and questions I have been using Quora. The main difference between Quora and Steem is that the value of questions and answers on Quora don't decay so quickly. The conversations stay relevant for years, in contrast to the few days on Steem. Despite that, there seems to be very interesting philosophical conversations here. I don't need Quora any more. I have asked several questions here, and people are willing to give thorough answers. Most all of the answers are very polite and friendly in tone, which is also amazing!

Entertainment

I don't care much about entertainment, but there seems to be much of it here. I'm looking forward to the ability to filter it out, which will greatly increase the value of Steem to me. To others the value will grow when they can filter out unwanted philosophy and useful information - and get a stream of pure entertainment. LOL

Steem has become the only place on the internet which I regularly visit!
