I think the first time someone mentioned the mysterious concept of rshares, it left me more confused than anything else. I mean, there is no talk about such thing anywhere, it's not in my wallet, no one in minnowsupport talks about it (my first community) and truth be told, I had no idea how it converted to money to begin with.

The hidden currency

I guess it very much depends on what it is that you are going for, because of course our individuals goals are different, even when we are participating of the same blockchain. For me, at least at this very moment, I'm in power up mode, anything that I see, every single spam memo of 0.001 that comes to my wallet is getting powered up... Yes, I'm being that ridiculous.

So, to me, the knowledge of rshares, of the hidden currency to put it differently is what is keeping me quite motivated. What am I talking about? I'm talking about how the reward pool assigns STU, tokens to the payouts. You see, when someone votes on your posts, on your comments or what have you, they are not actually assigning a dollar amount, even though we talk about it as if they are. They are assigning a percentage of the reward pool.

As you might guess, that means that independent of the price of steem, someone that can assign a big chunk of delicious rshares, lets say a megawhale, actually never loses the ability to do so in the slightest. In other words, however many STUs, tokens, they assigned before, they can still assign right now, yes, regardless of the price.

So, as the price goes down, at least for the moment being, I'm not horribly worried because I'm only focused on growth, and for that all I need to go is keep on working hard. The good news is that anybody can have this attitude right now, and collect themselves some magical rshares, the kind of magic tokens you exchange for STEEM after seven days.

New personal goal 15K

I remember setting the 8k only a couple months ago wondering if I was going to be able to pull it off. The whole thing seemed like the delusions of a madman, but If there is one thing life has taught me is that a sure way to achieve little is to aim low. So, why not? Telling myself I could hit 8k from 4800 or so I had at the time, felt like the right amount of pressure for my psyche.

Today however, I'm going to move the goal post even more, I'm going to shoot for 15K before the market turns around. This means, I have to collect about 2000 Tokens in possibly a few weeks (December usually changes the tides). Of course I could be all wrong about this, and the market could stay bear for longer, and if it does, I'm going to set the goal even higher. In other words, the longer the bear, the higher the goal, that is going to be my logical response.
