Email newsletters and Steem

I'm 4 weeks behind of reading several newsletters from bloggers that I subscribe. I get their thoughts in my email inbox every Friday. Usually I would finish reading them until the next installement comes or at least look at their contents.

But not this past month. True, the last few weeks included me travelling to perform in Poland and Malta so time for reading is limited these days. Or is it?

I read every day on Steem. I write every day on Steem. I post comments every day on Steem. So why didn't read those newsletters?

I realized today that I'd much rather read blog posts than read blog subscriptions in my email.

Steem is addictive. Not only financial rewards come into play here but also the supportive and engaged community. You actually wait and look forward for your favorite author's posts. You check their profile to see if they have posted yet...

And email is quite opposite for me. I'd rather get and read much fewer email these days.

They say Email Is King. But to me it's no longer the case. Every free minute I have I spend either thinking about or engaging on Steem.

The same is with my favorite podcasts. I would rather listen them on @dsound.

Here comes a natural thought - why aren't these bloggers and podcasters on Steem?

I have written to my favorite bloggers and podcasters about Steem, why they should join and at least cross-post their content here.

So far no one payed attention. One podcaster who was actually active on Steem in the early days, left with the approach of bear market, then posted once or twice and disappeared again. I hope he'll come back though.

I have to be honest and tell you that I have my blog and podcast called Secrets of Organ Playing where @laputis and I teach thousands of organists from 89 countries. They are getting my weekly email newsletters. And I constantly remind them about Steem because we have this Secrets of Organ Playing Contest. Additionally, I have created quite a few Steem accounts for them but majority of my audience doesn't get it yet. So for now I view my blog on Steem as something I do in my spare time.

I would love my organ students get rewards on Steem if not for posting themselves but at least for engaging with my content. But I feel they are not ready yet. Maybe this has something to do with the fact that very few organists in the world write blogs in general.

As an exception I'd like to shout out to my friends organists @contrabourdon, @partitura and @woody-mc who all are quite active Steemians. There might also be others swimming in the vast ocean of Steem that I have yet to discover...

I understand people who have large following and established blogs or podcasts, I can see their hesitation to move their blogs to blockchain. I get it. They will come when more influencers join Steem but I wanted to share my feelings about email newsletters.

Do you also feel that reading blogs as emails newsletters is no longer as attractive as it once was? Do you also spend all you reading and online social engagement time on Steem?

It also surprises me that many talented bloggers do not come to the blockchain, because here it would be possible to combine business with pleasure and readers would be interested!

Crypto have rather bad rep to the outside world right now. Maybe in the next bull run more people will join our ranks.
