DTube vs YoutubesteemCreated with Sketch.

I have been using DTube for 1 month now and I have been using YouTube for 10 years.

I start off by showing you what the DTube platform looks like and point out that
the way it looks is very much like the way YouTube looks.
When you open up YouTube the very top thing is an ad.
When you open up a video on DTube it is very clear on the stats.
It shows you how much the video has earned and who has thumb up the video
and what each persons thumb up has contributed to the video.
There is also a comment section and even the ones commenting on the video can earn from
the post.

The main issue with YouTube is it is ad based.
And many creators have had their videos and/or whole channels demonetized.
this means they are not earning money off the videos. For some this is not an issue, however
for many it is a major issue as they are depending on that income to continue to make quality
content. When you factor in the equipment and programs needed to make their videos and the time put into
making, editing, and promoting each video for many it is a 40+ hour a week just to publish
2-3 videos. And for some it is even more. So the loss of that income can mean for many the end of their channel.

With DTube it is based on your community in SteemIt and how well people like and share your video or blog.
If it is received well and liked by many the potential for your income from that video is limitless.
After 7 days you will get a payment based on the current value of SBD and STEEM.
After you get these rewards you can hold them or sell them.

I will talk more about what you can do with your SBD and STEEM in a future video as I get more familiar with it myself.

The other main differences of the 2 are as follows:
DTube is not on one main server so your videos and posts are there and can not be removed.
Once you get your rewards after the initial 7 days the posts will no longer earn rewards.
You earn rewards for posting quality content and the more engaging with the community you are the better you will do.
There are no ads that you have to watch in order to view content.
You do not have the ability to add playlists.

YouTube videos are under attack and can and will be removed if someone at YouTube decided they do not like what you are
saying or showing in your content. This hinders people from being free to creat content they want. And feels like you
always have to be careful on what you post.
Your video on YouTube will always make you revenue as long as it is still monetized. this means a video that is 9 years old
will still pay you as long as someone still watches it.

I also show you what my Steem and DTube account looks like and how it works a little.

This post is being posted on both YouTube AND DTube
