My 10 rules to be successfull on steemit

in steem •  7 years ago  (edited)

Recently someone asked me how I became successful at steemit.

I gave her this ten simple rules to follow and also want them to share with you:

There are two ways to be successful at steemit.
The first simple way to be a woman an post bikini selfies, haha :) But I guess that does not apply to most of you.

The second way is a little harder but also smarter.

  1. Write quality post not quantity post. A lot of posts that are just copied from newspages are crap. No one wants to read news on steemit. But people keep posting this crap and hope that some bots upvote then. You don't want to attract bots, you want attract people ;)
  2. Have a good posting frequency. You don't have to post tons of articles. Just do it regularly. One or two per day, probably every day at the same time. Check in your timezones when americans are online, then you have the highes chance your post will be seen.
  3. Use good tags. Don't invent do much own tags, instead focus on the most paying tags in this list: https://steemit.com/tags and always use 5 matching tags, not less.
  4. The fastest way to increase reputation is to comment posts from higher reputated users then you. With a little luck they upvote your comment which boosts your own rep. A upvote vom a user with a lower rep then yours is nearly useless.
  5. Use multiple channels. There is not only steemit. There is www.bescouted.com (good for photographers) and also https://d.tube (for vlogers). Use as much as you can to get in touch with new users.
  6. Focus on one theme. Most user will not subscribe to a person who blogs about food, then about photography and also about technology. Focus on one theme or maybe to.
  7. If you comment don't do shit comments like "Wow, such a cool post!" or "Thanks that helped me!". I ignore such posts, its just spam, encourage your followers to start a discussion in your articles.
  8. Ask people for their opinion. You want to start a discussion as often as you can. That attracts people and they have something to talk about in your post.
  9. Get inspired by whales. Whales know what they are doing, follow them and check out what and how they are doing it.
  10. Always reflect. After you made a post and it was not successful ask yourself what did I do wrong? And If it was successful, ask yourself what went right? And what can be even better?

And last bot not least: Keep posting, don't get annoyed if no one upvotes your post. As beginner its hard to get noticed. When you feel like your post is super mega awesome drop me a line and if I think you did good I will give you 100% upvote on it (approx. 5$ atm).

Authors get paid when people like you upvote their post.

I've just read all the points in detail and analyzing myself that I'm doing at #steemit. It's a great way to explain each and everything in detail to clarify each point that how can we hit the Jackpot ;) All the cool tips are worth reading for newbies who really want to become a successful steemit blogger. Also, the new Bescouted website is a new website for me.

"Thanks that helped me!"

Haha just kidding. :) But your post really has some helpful tips. What helped me the most is "bescouted". It's easier for photographers to find other steemians with the same interests and get more attention. But I don't know dtube, I'm gonna check it out. :)

Hehe glad you found something new! theres also busybox.org but I don't use it as much as steemit. It does basicly the same ;)

I make the post by following your tips, this experience is really amazing for me. Thank You Rockz!

Hehe just keep posting. People will notice somedays. Give it time. And if not, be happy that you did something useful.
Haha, Bikini images, yeeah! :D Easy upvotes. xD

yup I'll not disapoint on what i did for making sOme usefull post, sir

This kind of post is golden for us newbies here at Steemit!
Thanks alot and hopefully this can help me grow here on this platform!

Do you think I can be successful by wearing bikini? Joking aside, there are really good information&recommendation. Thanks for sharing with us. I will follow your step :)

Haha, if you try it with a bikini I promise you get 100% upvote by me! haha :)

Lol, thanks for promising :) I saw your personal contact information in previous post. If I try it, I will inform you immediately :)

Oh man. What awesome points you have just discussed in the blog, Read out all the points and will follow to become succesfull. Thanks mate.

Peace !

What mean "whale"?
And I agree you , not quantity matter , quality is the best to attract followers.A few weeks ago I wanted to gave up on steemit because I made 0.01$ per post or maybe 0$ , but i continued and now i make few cents per post , is not much , but i am beginer and so it is when you new.

About feeling my post is really god , take a look at this and if you think it is good you can upvote not , if it is not good say to me what you don't like and in future not to repeat that mistake.

If you like it , maybe you will follow me . Note :I don't ask you to upvote my post or to follow me , you can do this just if you like my content.

I upvoted your post a litte ;)
But Its a rather short post :P

By whale I mean people who have millions of $ ;)

You should think about money to much if you write posts. It just stresses you. Think about the knowledge you share and about how many people you make laught or maybe help. Then its getting easier!

Thank you a lot for upvot , because i'm beginer and 5 dollars it's a lot.But how can I know what like the people? If I am thinking about the knowledge I share with people and they don't like my knowledge?
And they give me downvote?

Never should give you a downvote if they dislike your content. Then they simply should not read it. Downvotes are for plagiarism and stolen content. And other fraud related crap.

You should not search for something people might love to read. You should write about something you are good with.

For example im a tech guy, A good IT gue, a good programmer and so on, so I write about tech stuff. And people who like tech stuff will find me if I produce good content.

If I would write about food (but I dont have any idea about it) people would not like it cuz i have no clue what I am talking about.
So write about stuff your good with.

Photography, Drawing, Singing, Writing, Creativity, Walking, Food, Pets, Fitness. Everyone has a talent :)

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

But if i have no talent? I don't know what to write. But I will check all tags . Maybe I will see something and I will learn more after I could share my knowledges.
But there are people who downvote your content just because they want to pull you down or they don't like your post. I saw a video on youtube and I understand that if someone downvote your post your post will be hidden... I don't know why steemit added "downvote".

Was that happening to you? I nearly never saw that people behave like that. Yes thats true, donvoted content will be hidden.
Its to fight fraud and plagiarism.

Im sure you have a talent to, If not. Learn something and post about the progress, for example in gaining or loosing weight. Or in learning an instrument or to draw? Or to cook :P

But if I will learn something from youtube or from google and after I make a summary of what I learnt , it is that a fraud?

of course not. Its your own produced content.
You could even read a book and write a summary of it, its still your own content :)

Just do not copy & paste.

I agree with you , slow and steady wins the race

Yup, slow and steady! :)

you are rock:)

I will follow your advice, you are among my new members

thnks bro for sharing your experience with us i will follow your tips and rules for my new posts keep sharing bro @Rockz

I will follow your advice. I hope to succeed like you :)

so i have not read it yat but i will so far so .. couse i reall need this for my self and i wann be like you so yeah i wil read it i will try to understand it ...thanks for sharing

no problem :)
You can do it, keep producing good content !

thanks for understanding i mean thats why i did not wrtie any review couse first i wann read it but know i am going out so thats why i wan read it with care and focus to understand

How to Win Friends and Influence People" Gelesen hast?

Hi @rockz , this article was very helpful. I just began my Steemit journey last month and love it so far. I’m glad people like you are sharing high quality content.
I put up a post a few days ago regarding How To Mine On Your iPhone. It took me around 6 hours to get it written and formatted, but sadly it didn’t get noticed.
I had a few views but was hoping for a better reaction.
Thank you for all that you do I appreciate you. -Ken

I saw you post! And its definitely a post who should be noticed more. Keep going! One day people will notice them. Until then, do it for you :) haha

Wow! Thank you so much!!! :)

Oh! I followed these succesfull tips, and I just hope I'll be successfull on this interseting platfarm thanks for your guidness

Thanks for the tips

I noticed you stopped by one of my posts and up-voted
someones comment, but not my post... The reason I
noticed, was because it was a very "nice sized" up-vote...
Check and see on my Post, Titled "Back To Being Coin
Man Again... If anyone has Original Material, it's me...

COIN MAN by @pocketechange

Hi rockz.. I read this post.. These points are hitting me and i wonder why i did not read this before.. As i am a begginer and i asked many ppl here to guide me about my posts but no one replied me.. You himself asked us to drop a line.. I am not saying that my post is super but i only want to ask some old successful stemian about my post.. Can you please cheq my last post as i posted it after some efforts and its my original work.. And give me some suggestion about better posting and success on steemit..

You're breaking your own rule no. 6 sometimes :-D
But you can allow yourself, I think.
I'm very new to steemit and I will try to follow these rules maybe expect for no. 6. I want to try everything a little bit
Your blog is really worth a follow!
