Steem blockchain activity significantly down since Hive forksteemCreated with Sketch.

The fork to Hive has had quite the impact on the Steem blockchain, with only about a quarter as many operations occurring pre-fork. It would seem most dapps have left the space, causing a drop in activity.

I hope that Hive joins Blocktivity soon, so the stats of both chains can be compared on the same page.

At Steems peak I saw over a million operations, this was before the resource credits were in place. So maybe there was more spam going in at the time. Though after hard fork 20 we saw the operations drop from over a million down into the 800k range.

After the fork done by the community, you can clearly see many have "packed their bags, and left the blockchain" so to say.

Or maybe this drop is related to the Steemit.com website going down, and nodes owned by Steemit (now Justin Sun) going offline randomly. This could also cause a drop in operations, as users of the blockchain cannot create transactions when the system is down.

A few days ago we were greeted with a Internal server error message for Steemit.com and it was down for most of the day. At this time blocktivity was showing Steem with a activity of under 100k operations which I have never seen it that low in my years on this blockchain.

I plan to keep posting on the Steem blockchain, but with these outages I may not be able to share as much content on this platform. If others are stable ill prefer to post to them, but for right now im cross posting my content on Hive and Steem.

To buy Hive, you can do so on Bittrex.

I'd also considered posting on both, but now I'm forced to stay with Steemit...for a while... or should I say, if it lasts for more than a while.

When witnesses wanted our votes for forking, they were able to send to each account a message. They told us we would be given the equivalent tokens in Hive as we have in Steemit and they will migrate our data.

Now, I get no notifications and do not know what is happening. I have seen that I must pay to open a hive account and I must buy hive tokens...so it sounds like the whole thing was an exercise in BS.

Most strongly of all I object to the fact that I was not kept informed so that I can decide for myself. To expect that we must each find our way is not right and speaks strongly of how they intend to run hive - as they ran steemit?

What are you talking about? You received your airdrop the same as everyone that met the criteria.

At last someone gave me the link and I am checking it out ... yup, mostly all sems fine.

Appreciate your showing me the way there.

I saw a post in steempeak that gave me the impression I must pay to open an account, which explains my previous comment.

I have to recognize that my initial response could have been better, I apologize for that.

There were alot (I mean...alot) of posts regarding the hardfork. At some point you need to take personal responsibility and inform yourself.

You are so f* smart - that you do not need to read what the other person actually said and then you think you have the right to tell them off.

I made it very clear that I objected to being sent personal comments when they wanted my votes, but they could not bother to do the same when they actually succeeded. I was relying on them as I am not very computer literate and thought that since I respected their plea and gave them 120 votes for them to use as they choose, they would show the same respect and keep me informed.

Since you have shown yourself to be an idiot who does not understand a simple message but thinks he has the right to speak out of turn - I wonder...are you going to take personal responsibility for your own stupidity?

That means you are arrogant, just as they are!

As for you and your unasked for comment - I suggest that if you are not being helpful, you keep your comments to yourself or for those who you think will appreciate your brilliance, for I definitely do not.

It's always sad when someone responds with insults...have a good day.
