Downvoting reduces the visibility of trash-content. Such as stolen articles, images or videos for example. It is a necessary part of content curation. Otherwise we will drown in senseless drivel sooner or later.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
