(Italian: Uomo vitruviano, English: Vitruvian Man) is a painting by the famous Italian painter, sculptor, inventor and scientist Leonardo da Vinci. It was painted in 148. This picture, drawn with a simple pen on paper, shows the same person in two different formats, one in the middle of a circle and the other in the middle of a square. The image and the comments attached to it are often called the Canon of Proportions. It is currently housed in the Academia Museum in Venice, Italy. Like all other pictures drawn on ordinary paper and pen, it is displayed at a particular time, most of the time in secret.
