NEWBIE INFO..WHY I HAVENT UPVOTED RECENTLY OR REPLIED

This post is explaining .. why I haven't replied lately or upvoted..recently..

I have only been on steemit for a very short period of time and since that time I have
experienced the hardfork19.

My immediate response to the hardfork was to upvote people with my excitement.. because as a newbie my upvote was actually pretty worthless..when the hard fork happened.. I actually felt I could show how much I appreciated the content or comment with cents but still....a showing of appreciation..this was exciting!!

Previous to the hard fork and my entry into steemit I was upvoting every post or comment I in JOY'd.
not at all realizing what it really ment..(read the white pages, this can be found on FAQ Page) next to your icon there are 3 bars mouse over that... you will find the FAQ Page...(again, read this)

With my upvote excitement..within a very short period of time..(previous to hard fork)..steemit was sending me a reply saying I didn't have enough power to upvote...! I had no idea what that actually meant or why..I also noticed that my posts went from bold titles to very faded titles..this is where I started to get a clue..and started researching further..

I will admit as a newbie I jumped in without knowing what I was doing. My reasoning was...Oh blog post I can do that!! or share my youtube videos ..I can definitely do that! Having been on youtube for many many years and sharing years of my life on Facebook..I jumped on to steemit..with an arrogance of I can do this!...

I was so wrong! I have learned so so much..since my first days of steemit..I have spent countless hours on the platform watching, reading, researching ..as well as watching several youtube videos about steemit! I have a desire to learn and I have spent hours trying to understand.. how this platform works and what I can find available on google, youtube, the white pages (FAQ page, again ..READ it!!!!!)

In the many hours ..I have spent on steemit and many hours of study..I realized there is power in the upvote (DUH) and their is a limited supply...

I didn't actually know that... I could look somewhere ...to see my upvote power percentage..since then I have learned that if you google your steemit name ...you should see a link to steamd.com with your steemit user name attached ..on this website..you can see information about your account including percentage of your power on your upvote...

Since yesterday I was at 29% all day..and today have moved up to only 52%..
from my study ..I understood that the voting power of 100% was returned every 24hours...well its been over 24 hours and I am still not at 100%..

I believe that I totally extinguished my voting to 0...and well.. NOW.. I know ..it CAN actually take longer than 24 hours to bring back up..I believe that is because I started upvoting again before my power.. went to even 50%..bringing me back to at least 24% or lower...

So this is why....I haven't replied or upvoted..recently

The hard fork was exciting for me..believing I could gift people what I had available ..even if it is a small gift to give ( just cents...)
what a wonderful gift..to let people know you appreciate their time...and their messages...and content*

For me..
not having the ability..to give something..when my power is so low...is a shame..to the people I really appreciate..
so I would rather sit still and share my blog posts..and wait..wait until I can give you something...its small but it is of value to me and a way to express my appreciation to you...

So if you feel ignored I apologize..that is not my intention..
with that being said..

I realize I must be more selective with what I give..which is a total bummer...
for in reality it gives me great pleasure to share and to give..
but the reality is..there really is only so much to give...

It is not my style to give people a hard time for not..following, upvoting my sharing,my comments or asking others for resteems..

I rely on you..to tell me if you appreciate my sharing..by choosing to resteem my content..or leaving me a reply or choosing to upvote my words, or videos..

It is thru your will alone and your appreciation that I make anything on this site..and for those that have been generous with
your time, your upvotes , your comments or resteems...that I wish to ..

If you see @thebookofuma..leaving you a comment or a reply it is coming from a genuine place..I may not be able to give an upvote for every comment or every post I come across..with my new understanding..but if you see me on your feed it is coming from a genuine place..
