Change Ahead: Steem Tokens as an Author Rewards from your blogs, articles, videos, etc.

So i just noticed this payout(author rewards) of my posts yesterday that indicated a fraction of steem tokens as part of the reward distribution.

So I would assume that 24hrs have passed, steemit conducted some changes in part of the reward distribution on every post. I did search for some updates but can't find any. I haven't read about someone writes the similar issue. I wonder what's happening inside the steem blockchain while the entire cryptocurrency industry faced it's series of attacks and demotion.

What would be the causes of this change? and the effects?

What do you think?

It's a mechanism to stabilize the Steem-SBD debt ratio. A way to compensate the oversupply of SBD in the market.

Funny how other people talked about sbd shortage. And then this kind of protocol aim to control sbd surplus.

SBD is not meant to be an independent coin in the first place. It's meant to control the supply of steem. I think the oversupply is due to the broken USD peg. People tend to sell their SBD outside the Steem economy instead of converting it to Steem.

Thanks for sharing steemit

I noticed that too. Not sure either but interested in the answer as well. I’m sure we will figure it out soon. Good luck!

Hi Ger, like we talked about in slack here is an old post from @steemitblog from two years ago that helps explain this. I am pasting the entire URL instead of linking so people know this is not one of those phishing links.

I partly get it now but whats the difference between this time and the time where both steem and sbd is at less than or equal 1$?

I noticed this as well and was a bit surprised. I agree that it has to do with needing to stabilize SBD. It might also have to do with wanting to creating more liquidity for authors. That would be nice.

More liquidation in a form of steem is not good imo.

What is your concern and does it relate to people manipulating the system?

Thanks for your post! I wondered about the same thing!

Really!?
That is great! Thank You for info.
