Select topic proposals

On Select topic you can only choose a few things and then there is a field with your own input.

For example I wanted to post something funny. I did not know, that there is already a topic "funny" and just wrote "fun". Now its shown on a different topic. That could be better. Why not implement a search dropdown field for all topics. With the amount of posts in brackets would be even nicer.

Also its not possible to change the topic later on edit, or did I miss anything?

Select "Other Topic" and type in the topic you want to post under. If it does not exist a new topic will be created.

he don't wanted to open a new topic... he did it "accidentally" because the system don't show them that already "funny" was an option...

You just type in "funny" after selecting "Other Topic". Since it exist it will go in "funny".

They are saying it is not obvious if a topic already exists or not, unless it is shown in the drop-down list.

Ok I see what you're saying. He didn't know there was another called funny so he used "fun" and created a new one. Gotcha. Yeah that is going to end up creating a bunch of needless topics over time I guess.
