Well I for one love the hell out of a good long weekend.
I could have spent that time on creating some spiffy clipart. Maybe playing video games and shit. But deep down, I really enjoy spending it with friends and stuff. Doing things that I am not able to do on other days in the week. Like playing cards until 4am with my niece and step brother. While their kids run around all hopped up on sugar. Or crash out wherever their heads hit the pillow, from that sugar rush.
It was great!
Screw all those plans I made to spend time with other people who ended up forgetting and stuff. I get the feeling when I'm out there with my ceremonial family that I'm living in a better way than I could have hoped for in some other areas.
I was just telling a friend of mine about how important it is to spend time with people you care about, in a place that your comfortable being. Alot of people aren't comortable in their own lives, for whatever reason. I'm just glad to be able to say that all my hard work has paid off.
Don't get me wrong, that feeling I've got has taken alot of hard work. Living on the side of a road. On the top of a mountain. Strung out in Guatemala selling little sandwiches to tourists so I could survive. Selling weed. Fighting an infection in my legs on the streets of San Francisco, while working the street corners with a small army of my own street slangers standing behind me. Any number of things that brought me to the sense of satisfaction that I'm living with now.
Oh yes!
Who am I to complain about stuff? I'm grateful for the things I've got today, and to be able to share some stories with you!
